Eunice has over 10 years’ experience in use and application of earth observation technology for natural resource management. She has a Master of Science degree in GIS and Remote Sensing. She has implemented development projects in Eastern and Southern Africa region that cut across agriculture and food security, water and natural resources management and climate change monitoring and mitigation. While working at RCMRD, Eunice has held dynamic positions at technical and project management level, leading successful GIS based project implementation. She has maintained a robust working relationship with diverse clients and partners drawn from government, private sector and development agencies. Eunice continues to play a pivotal role in GMES Africa continental program where she leads the land degradation thematic service in 14 countries within Eastern Africa and S. East Coastal Africa Island nations. She supports development of the information service and capacity building efforts for end users to transfer technical knowledge on earth observation data and tools. She has supported formation of national steering committees in the project countries to enhance sustainability efforts.
Budzanani is Director, Science and Technology/Capacity Development at The Southern Africa Science Service Centre for Climate Change and Adaptive Land Management (SASSCAL), a joint initiative of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, and Germany in response to challenges of global climate change. He is founding Director (executive), Innovation and Technology at the Botswana Digital and Innovation Hub (BDIH), where his portfolio responsibilities included research and technology funding and commercialization. He previously held positions of, Research Fellow at the University of Botswana (Okavango Research Institute), Regional Coordinator-Southern Africa, Global Monitoring for Food Security Consortium led by Flemish Institute of Technology (VITO); and interim Coordinator in the Botswana Innovation Hub Project Office, among others. He has more than 20 cumulative years’ experience in academia (Research and Development), industry (products development), and government (science, technology, & innovation policy and Science and Technology Parks operationalization). Served as a non-executive director in the Medical Education Partnership Initiative Advisory Board and the Botswana Geoscience Institute. Currently sits on Botswana Postal Services Limited Board and is Chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee. He is the founding Chairman of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) Physics and Astronomy departmental Advisory Board. Has is a review panelist for the National Research Foundation’s African Union-Flagship projects. I hold an engineering degree in geomatics and a PhD in Geographical Information Systems on web-based data (soil) collection from the field with mobile devices. My area of expertise is more in GIS and Remote Sensing products focused on land cover and geographic/spatial monitoring analysis and (thematic)mapping. With regard to my professional background, I have nine years of government(Turkey), and six years of private sector experience in a national and international environment. I have carried out various responsibilities as UNCCD NFP-TURKEY (Chairman of Annex IV, Representative of Turkey to the Steering Committee of G20, the Global Initiative on Reducing Land Degradation and Enhancing Conservation of Terrestrial Habitats, and member of the working group on the LDN-TPP Decision Support System) I am married and have 2 kids.

Dr. Tidiane Ouattara received a master’s degree in physical geography from Université de Cocody-Abidjan (Côte-d’Ivoire). In 1996, Dr. Ouattara obtained a master’s degree and in 2001 a PhD, both in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS) from Sherbrooke University (Canada). Dr. Ouattara is currently Space Science Expert and Coordinator for GMES & Africa Programme. He has gained tremendous experience in international relations and business development, research and development (R&D), strategic policy development and program management issues related to environment, natural resources, and sciences and technology. Indeed Dr. Ouattara began his career in Canada as lecturer at Sherbrooke University from 1996 to 2001. He taught not only scientific courses, but also African geopolitics and sociocultural issues.
